To Begin With – What Are Available Right Now

Starting with the biggest announcement right away.

Soldier Recruitment 2026 is very much in action. Indeed, you got that right. The last day to register for Soldier Recruitment 2026 online will be June 19, 2026. You are running out of time. PMA Long Course 158 – For Those Who Want to Be Officers

As we are talking about Army Jobs 2026 and there is still so much confusion, let us talk about this too.

This particular course is for those who want to be Pakistan Army officers and not soldiers. The registration process for 158th Batch of this course ended in early May 2026. But here is the thing, the prelim tests are going on until July 3, 2026. So, even if you have registered yourself, your journey is still alive.

But what if you have missed this registration? Do not waste time crying. Rather start preparing yourself for 159th Batch. It will come somewhere in August or September 2026.

This course is conducted at Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul, Abbottabad. The training period is 2 years. After which you become a Second Lieutenant with permanent commission.

The qualifying criteria are that you have to be male, unmarried and between 17 to 22 years old if you have Intermediate or A-Levels. If you are a graduate candidate, you can be 24 or 25 years old. At least you should have 60% marks in your previous education.

What I want to make sure here is that this course is very competitive. In fact, every year about hundred thousands of students apply for it and only 500 to 700 get into this academy.

Civilian Jobs under Army – Many Do Not Even Know That

Pakistan Army runs a lot of hospitals, ordnance units, logistics companies and more. As a result, they recruit civilians for several jobs.

Recently, CMH Rawalpindi and CMH Kohat offered vacancies in military hospitals for positions at Matric, Intermediate and Bachelor level for support positions. Yes, you heard it correctly, these positions are open for civilian people.

Similarly, Ordnance College in Malir Cantt Karachi and the 89 Ordnance Unit in Sialkot have also been offering vacancies for various jobs of drivers, clerks, mechanics, store keepers, carpenters and more.

According to the routine of Pakistan Army, the second half of the year should include:

PMA Long Course 159 will probably be announced in August or September this year. If you missed Course 158, this one is for you.

Short Service Commission generally appears once or twice in the year. It is for graduates who want to become officers but they do not want to commit to a full career.

Lady Cadet Course is for women candidates. Unmarried female candidates with 16 years of education can apply and become Lady Officers. You can check the official website since this particular course does not get announced much publicity.

AFNS, or the Armed Forces Nursing Service is particularly for women who wish to pursue nursing career in Army environment. Respectable job indeed.

Finally, the Technical Cadet Course is for those who have completed FSc Pre-Engineering or ICS education. Interesting aspect of this course is that candidates get a full four-year engineering degree in addition to becoming an officer, hence they get commissioned as a Captain.

Army Medical Course appears periodically for medical students and professionals.

Money – Let Us Talk About Salary

Now, you are probably wondering about salary.

Starting salary of an Army officer begins around Rs. 35,000 but it goes considerably high after adding the allowances. For senior officers, the pay scale is about Rs. 120,000 and even more. It is true that you have to clear a physical test as well and it is important. You have to run 1.6 km, do push-ups, sit-ups and chin-ups. Your score on the physical test directly affects your admission.
